CERTIFIED WOOD HEATERS ON THE WEB

Our friends over at the Australian Home Heating Association (AHHA) have set up a new certified wood heater web site www.certifiedwoodheaters.com.au. This new web site contains a comprehensive list of the commercially available wood heaters in Australia.  The AHHA is the body that runs the certification scheme for wood heaters in Australia.  The list of heaters on this new dedicated web site provides the certification status of each make and model, as well as the rated emission and efficiency of the ones that are certified.  There is an incomplete list of wood heaters on the AHHA web site which only gives information about the heater models that are made by AHHA members.  It is important to note that the range of certified wood heaters that are made by reputable manufacturers who choose not to become members of the AHHA are not on this list.  The more comprehensive list on www.certifiedwoodheaters.com.au allows consumers to compare the full range of heaters that are available on the market and also makes it clear which heaters are certified and which ones aren’t.  In most states of Australia it is a legislated requirement that all newly installed wood heaters comply with AS/NZS 2012-2014 “Domestic solid fuel burning appliances – method for determination of power output and efficiency” and AS/NZS 4013-2014 “Domestic solid fuel burning appliances – Method for determination of flue gas emission”.  This new web listing is therefore a useful resource for both customers and regulators.
